INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION
ASSESSMENT
Bringing a child into your family through international adoption is an incredibly rewarding and life-changing experience. However, it's essential to ensure the stability and preparedness of the adoptive parents. I specialize in providing comprehensive psychological assessments specifically designed to assist families pursuing international adoptions. As the parent of an internationally adopted child, I offer a wealth of experiences related to the inherent joys and challenges of adoption. I fully understand the complexity of your journey, and I’m happy to assist you with my knowledge and experience.
Why Choose the LPEC Psychological Assessment Services?

-
Expertise: I am a highly qualified psychologist with years of work in international adoption assessments. I’m happy to share my extensive knowledge and experience in evaluating the psychological, emotional and parenting readiness of future parents looking to adopt internationally.
-
Tailored Assessments: I understand that each international adoption case is unique. That's why I provide personalized assessments that take into account the specific needs and circumstances of your family, as well as the requirements of the country from which the child will be adopted.
-
Cultural Sensitivity: I fully recognize the importance of cultural sensitivity when evaluating individuals from diverse backgrounds. The assessments are culturally informed, ensuring that cultural factors and their impact on psychological testing are considered and explained in the report (when relevant).
-
Timely and Thorough Reports: After completing the assessment, you will receive a detailed report that highlights my findings, observations, and recommendations. These reports are written and formatted to meet the specific requirements of the country from which the child will be adopted.

Fees
International adoption assessments are billed at a flat rate of $1200 for a couple or $600 for an individual, which is based on the recommended fee schedule published by the College of Alberta Psychologists and the average number of hours required to complete the assessment. LPEC does not direct bill to insurance companies, but a detailed receipt is provided, which may be submitted for partial coverage (subject to the policies of each insurance company).
